Chatsonic Google Chrome Extension

Learn how to install Chatsonic's Google Chrome Extension and the different ways to use it on the web

The Chatsonic Google Chrome Extension is a powerful tool designed to enhance your online writing and research experience. Built on the advanced capabilities of GPT-4, this extension offers real-time answers, content generation, and much more, directly within your browser. Whether you're drafting emails, creating social media posts, or conducting research, Chatsonic streamlines the process, making it more efficient and enjoyable.


Step 1- Install and Activate the Extension

  1. Go to the Chrome Web Store and search for "Chatsonic Chrome Extension" or click this link to go directly to Chatsonic's Add to Chrome Page
  2. Click [Add to Chrome], then click [Add extension] on the Chatsonic dialogue box to confirm the installation.

  1. Log in to your Writesonic account to activate the extension.
    • Click the [chrome extensions icon] at the top right corner of your Chrome browser to display your installed extensions, then click the [pin] icon next to Chatsonic
    • Click the [Chatsonic extension] icon next to the extensions icon, then sign-up or sign-in to your Writesonic account.

Step 2 - Set Up Triggers

  1. Click the [chatsonic extension icon], then click the [gear icon] to open up the General Settings menu.
  2. Choose and select when you want the Chatsonic widget to appear: always, only for questions, or manually.

Step 3 - Setup the Ask Chatsonic button

You can interact with Chatsonic anywhere in the web with a click of a button.

  1. Click the [chatsonic extension icon], then click the [gear icon] to open up the General Settings menu.
  2. Choose and select when you want the Ask Chatsonic button to appear: always show, always hide, show when text is selected


Step 4 - Start Using Chatsonic

Anywhere on the web

Enter a prompt

  1. Open any page on the web
  2. Click the [Ask Chatsonic] button located at the bottom left corner of the page to display the Chatsonic dialogue box
  3. Enter your query. It can be anything from creating new content, research, or just simply ask a question.

Select text from the web

  1. Open a page on the web
  2. Highlight text from the web
  3. Click the [Ask Chatshonic] button located at the bottom left corner of the page, the selected text will be copied over to the Chatsonic dialogue box
  4. Type in a command or instructions for Chatsonic
  5. Click the [generate] button

Gmail

Compose an Email

  1. Click [Compose] to open the message box
  2. Click the [Chatsonic icon]
  3. Provide instructions about the email
  4. Select a tone
  5. Click [Write]

Reply to emails

  1. Open an existing email, then click the [reply] button
  2. Enter the points you want to cover in the reply
  3. Select a tone
  4. Click Chatsonic's [Reply] button to generate a reply.


Email Summarization

  1. Open a long email thread that you want to summarize.
  2. Click the [chatsonic icon], then select a summary option:
    • Click the [Executive Summary] tab to generate a One-Sentence Overview: For long email threads, Chatsonic can provide a high-level summary, giving you a quick one-sentence overview of what has been discussed.
    • Click the [Timeline] tab to generate a Timeline of Discussion: Chatsonic can also generate an outline summary, which delivers a timeline of the entire email thread.


LinkedIn

Compose New Posts

  1. Open LinkedIn and navigate to the post creation section.
  2. Click the [chatsonic icon] on the post creation box to
  3. Type in a content idea
  4. Select a tone
  5. Click [Write]


Generate Ice-Breakers and Invitations

  1. Navigate to a potential connection's profile and click the [Message] button
  2. Click the [chatsonic icon] on the message box
  3. Type in a prompt or instructions about the message
  4. Select a tone
  5. Click [Write]

Engage with Comments

  1. Click the [chatsonic icon] on the comment reply box
  2. Type your comment or instructions
  3. Select a tone
  4. Click [Write]


Twitter

  1. Navigate towards the twitter post creation section or click the [reply] button if commenting on a post
  2. Type in your post or message
  3. Select the text in your message draft
  4. Click Chatsonic's [edit] icon or [light bulb] icon to improve the text.

Google Search

Perform a Google Search

  1. Enter your query into the Google search bar and hit enter.
  2. Chatsonic will generate search results located on the right-hand side of the search results page.

You can ask follow-up questions or request additional information directly within the widget.

  1. Select and highlight the text you want to improve
  2. Click Chatsonic's [edit icon] or the [idea icon] to make improvements
