Writesonic's Ask AI feature is a remarkable tool that makes content optimization both enjoyable and effortless.

• Activating it is simple: just highlight a text or phrase or press the "space bar" to reveal the formatting bar, then click [Ask AI].
• From there, you can either enter a specific command (like "give me a subheadline for this paragraph") or choose from an extensive list of commands. These include options to improve SEO, rephrase text, enhance writing, extend length, refine spelling and grammar, or even generate entirely new content, such as "write a blog post" or "create an outline". The possibilities are virtually endless.

Step 1 - Access the AI Document Editor

Open with a blank document

There are 2 ways to access the AI Document Editor with a blank document:

• Click the [Get started] button located at the top section of the left hand side menu, then click [Start with a blank document]
• Click your Writesonic home tab located at the top section of the left hand side menu, then click [AI Document Editor] from the list of top features.

Open with an existing document

1. Click the [folder icon] located at the top section of the left hand side menu
2. Then select a project folder from the dropdown options. Read this guide to learn more how Project Folders work.

3. Click [History] from the left hand side menu, then click on an aritcle to open it on the AI Document Editor.

Step 2 - Open the Ask AI Menu

• Select the text you'd like to work on to display the formatting bar, then click [Ask AI] to display the Ask AI Menu
• If you haven't drafted your content yet or if you're brainstorming for ideas, just hit the "space bar" to diplay the Ask AI menu

Step 3 - Ask AI

Let the magic begin! Now, we're all set to dive in—just Ask AI for whatever you need to enhance your content. You can simply type in instructions as if you're guiding an assistant, or choose from a list of prompts designed to optimize your content.

Enter instructions

1. Type your instructions on the Ask AI message bar, then click the [Send] button.
2. After typing in your instructions, a generation box will be displayed with your AI-generated content ready for you to review and use as needed.

Edit or review a text selection

With Ask AI, you can conveniently select any text and request AI to edit or review it. For instance, if you're unsure about the clarity of a paragraph in your blog post, you can highlight it and ask AI to provide suggestions for improvement.

1. Select the text you'd like to work on, then click [Ask AI]
2. Select an option from the [edit or review selection] list. Your options include:
   • Improve SEO
   • Rephrase text
   • Improve writing
   • Make longer
   • Improve spelling or grammar
   • Make shorter
   • Change tone (select from a list)
   • Simplify
3. After selecting an option, a generation box will be displayed with your AI-generated content ready for you to review and use as needed.

Generate from selection

You can prompt Ask AI to use a text selection for various tasks, such as translating it to another language, summarizing it, identifying action items, or explaining it further.

1. Select the text you'd like to work on, then click [Ask AI]
2. Select an option from the [generate from selection] list. Your options include:
   • Translate (select a language from a list)
   • Summarize
   • Find action items
   • Explain this
3. After selecting an option, a generation box will be displayed with your AI-generated content ready for you to review and use as needed.

Create content

If you're brainstorming ideas or haven't begun drafting your content yet, you can effortlessly generate content by selecting from a dropdown list of content types. This intuitive feature not only simplifies the process but also helps guide you in selecting the type of content you need, even if you're unsure initially.

1. Press the "space bar" to display the Ask AI menu
2. Select the type of content you want to generate
3. On the message bar, continue the prompt with specific details about your content
4. Click the [Send] button. A generation box will be displayed with your AI-generated content ready for you to review and use as needed.

Step 4 - Select an action for the generated content

Once you've reviewed your AI-generated content, you can either provide further instructions of what you'd like to do next, or select from the dropdown options:

• insert the generated content into the editor
• ask it to continue writing
• make the generated content longer
• if you want another version, try again
• or discard
