Action Center: Actionables

The Actionables page is your GEO command center. It automatically surfaces the highest‑ROI fixes and opportunities—ranked by Impact on AI visibility and Effort to implement—so you always know what to tackle next. Whether you’re on Writesonic’s free tier or a paid plan, following these tasks steadily improves your odds of being cited by ChatGPT, Bard, Perplexity, and other generative engines.

1  Fix Technical Issues

Remove barriers that prevent AI crawlers and search bots from accessing or understanding your content.

Even the best article can’t get cited if it’s hidden behind a crawl block or broken link. GEO inspects your site architecture—robots.txt, sitemaps, status codes, schema markup—and lists concrete fixes that unlock crawlability.

Typical tasks

  • Unblock AI bots in robots.txt (e.g., allow ChatGPT‑User, GPTBot)
  • Add or repair XML sitemaps so new pages are discovered quickly
  • Resolve 4xx / 5xx errors and redirect loops
  • Add missing canonical tags to avoid duplicate‑content confusion
  • Check structured data validity (FAQ, How‑To, Product, etc.)

Workflow

  1. Expand the card to see each issue with a short “why it matters” note.
  2. Click Address now for a step‑by‑step fix guide or quick link to the affected file.
  3. Mark Resolved when done; GEO verifies the fix on the next analysis run.

Using this section: Click on “Fix technical issues” to expand it and see all identified technical action items. Each listed item will show a brief description of the issue and why it matters. For example, if it shows “Fix robots.txt blocking AI crawlers”, clicking it might reveal which specific bots are blocked and need allowing【37†】. You can use the “Address now” button next to each item to immediately start resolving it – this may provide guidance or quick links (for example, to edit your robots.txt or view instructions). After fixing an issue, you can mark it resolved. Over time, resolved items move to the Resolved count, and any changes in your site will be reflected in the next analysis run (the page also shows when the last analysis was and when the next run is scheduled, so you know when new data will refresh).

2  Get External Mentions

Build domain authority by earning citations on reputable third‑party sites.

Generative engines weigh external signals heavily. A mention on a respected site tells AI that your content is trustworthy. GEO scans knowledge graphs, backlink datasets, and competitor footprints to find authority gaps you can close.

Typical tasks

  • Secure mentions on industry publications, analyst reports, or Wikipedia
  • Pitch guest posts or expert quotes to high‑DA blogs and news outlets
  • Publish data studies / PR pieces engineered to attract organic references
  • Reclaim lost links from 404 pages or outdated domains

Workflow

  1. Open the card to view target domains, estimated traffic share, and outreach difficulty.
  2. Prioritize High‑impact / Low‑effort opportunities—often smaller niche blogs with engaged audiences.
  3. Use Address now to log outreach, open an integrated CRM, or generate an email pitch template.

(Insert screenshot of "Get mentioned on high‑authority sites" list)

Using this section: Expand “Get external mentions” to see all opportunities and suggestions. You might see a list of specific platforms or contexts in which you lack presence. Each actionable will have an Impact level (e.g. a mention on Wikipedia or a major news site might be High impact) and an Effort estimate (getting a mention on a big publication might be high effort). Prioritize according to these indicators – for example, a Medium effort but High impact action could be a quick win. Use “Address now” on an item to log it or get more details. (In some cases, “Address now” might prompt you to, say, create a plan to reach out to a certain publication or might integrate with any available outreach tools if provided.)

3  Boost Content Visibility

Create or enhance pages so AI systems prefer citing you over competitors.

GEO analyzes live AI answers and pinpoints content formats, topics, and structures that win citations. It then suggests actions that move your pages closer to those winning patterns.

Typical tasks

  • Cover competitive gaps: publish articles on questions your rivals own in AI results
  • Add FAQ blocks & schema for quick‑answer extraction
  • Refresh outdated stats and add inline citations to authoritative sources
  • Refine headings & summaries so AI can parse key facts easily
  • Embed step‑by‑step how‑tos or tables that AI loves to quote

Workflow

  1. Expand the card to see topic ideas, competitor examples, and format recommendations.
  2. Hit Address now to open Writesonic’s editor pre‑loaded with a brief or checklist.
  3. After publishing, let GEO’s next analysis confirm if your page starts appearing in AI answer sets.

(Insert screenshot of "Create AI‑friendly content" suggestion)

Using this section: Click “Boost content visibility” to view all content-related suggestions. Each actionable will detail what to do (e.g. “Add FAQ schema to page X” or “Update blog post Y with latest stats”). The Impact level here indicates how much the change could improve your AI visibility (for example, creating content on a completely missing topic might be High impact). The Effort indicator helps you gauge if it’s a quick tweak (low effort) or a significant content project. Start with high-impact, low-effort tasks if you can. Use “Address now” to jump into action – it might take you to an editor or provide guidelines on how to optimize or create that content. Remember to monitor these pages after implementation; as AI crawlers revisit your site (the GEO tool’s AI Traffic Analytics can show this), you should see improvements in whether those pages begin getting cited.

Best‑Practice Tips

  • Work by ROI first: High‑impact × Low‑effort tasks deliver the fastest gains.
  • Batch fixes: Tackle similar issues (e.g., all 4xx errors) in one dev sprint.
  • Iterate often: AI citation landscapes shift; review Actionables after each analysis refresh.
  • Leverage integrations: Paid plans unlock one‑click fixes, content briefs, and outreach automations—free users can still follow every recommendation manually.
